Miss Dawn began instructing at FPDS in 2002 and was Co-owner and Director from 2008-2020.  She began cheerleading and tumbling in 1992 and began assisting students in 1995.  While attending Temple University, Dawn studied Ballroom Dancing under the instruction of Hilda Bacon and completed courses in yoga, aerobics and weight training.

Dawn has performed and competed in cheerleading at the high school level and for Temple University (Philadelphia, PA). She has won numerous awards and recognition with UCA and NCA including NCA All-American Cheerleader in 1997 & 1998.  She has performed and competed through the U.S. at the UCA National Collegiate Cheerleading Championships at Walt Disney World (Orlando, FL), the National Cheerleaders Association’s National Collegiate Championships (Daytona Beach, FL), The Aloha Bowl Half-time performance (Honolulu, HI) and the Big Apple Classic (NYC).

Dawn has choreographed pieces for the Wellsboro High Musical (Aladdin) and for First Position’s Winter & Spring Recitals since 2003 including the studio’s production on Alice in “Wonderland”, “The Nutcracker”, “The Return of the Rat King”, and “Wonka’s Sweet Vision”. Miss Dawn was a founding Director of FPDS’s dance team, “DT2”, and choreographed various pieces for numerous competitions & performances throughout the area.

 

Miss Dawn was the Co-Owner & Administrative Director of First Position from 2008-2021. During this time, she continued her dance education by attending various Broadway workshops & classes at Broadway Dance Center. Miss Dawn also organized the studio’s annual Broadway Dance Experience. This allowed students to visit NYC, attend a  Broadway show and a corresponding Broadway Dancing Workshop. Miss Dawn is continuing to broaden her dance horizons as a member of CLI, and absolutely LOVES sharing her knowledge and expertise with the students of First Position Dance Studio.
